Find out if Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Powder should be part of your supplement stack in our Body Fortress Whey Protein Review!
When I first started lifting as a teenager there was a lot of things I didn’t know, or did wrong. However there was 1 thing i was certain of. I needed protein, and lots of it. As a college student living at home, working part time, I didn’t have the cash to spend on bags of chicken breasts or steak. Heck, I didn’t have the funds to go buying the ‘extravagant’ 10lb tubs of protein in the health stores, or the supplement isle in supermarkets. What I did have however is an understanding that protein was important, and a protein powder would help me build muscle. Knowing this I went out and bought, what I now consider to be one of the best value for money protein powders available, body fortress whey protein. Having tried loads of different protein powders over the pasty 6 years including body fortress whey isolate, body fortress super advanced whey protein protein, myprotein impact whey, hydrolysed whey protein and optimum nutrition to name just a few. I thought id revisit where it all began with this body fortress whey protein review.
Body Fortress Whey Protein Review
How good is body fortress whey protein? Should you drop your money on this protein powder? In short – yes & yes. Find out why in our body fortress whey protein review.
What is Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein?
Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein (also known as body fortress whey protein) is a whey protein powder supplement. Super Advanced Whey protein powder from Body Fortress is a protein concentrate powder. Each 2 lb tub of Super Advanced Protein Whey Body Fortress contains around 28 servings. 1 33g serving (1 scoop) contains the following:
Protein – 26g
Carbohydrates – 3g
Fat – 2g
Following the tubs instructions you’ll be wanting to use 2 scoops as 1 serving, essentially doubling the above values. 2 scoops also provides over 8 grams of branched chain amino acids:
However make the servings fit your macros. I personally wouldn’t advise any more than 1 and a half scoops per serving. Have enough to meet your protein requirements. Don’t use 2 scoops because the tub tells you to! The blend of protein used in Super Advanced Whey is excellent, as can be seen from the nutritional values above, making it an excellent value for money, cheap protein powder.
If you’ve ever stepped foot into a supermarket like Walmart, chances are you’ve seen Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey stacked up in their supplement or health isle (However don’t buy it from walmart as you can buy it much cheaper from amazon). A 2 tub pack (4 lbs) will set you back $31.96. So the first question would be, how is this protein so cheap? Shortly follow by how good is body fortress protein? Well, from my experience, Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein is excellent value for money, which is why I decided to write this Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Review.
Supplement companies thrive on making a profit from teenage lifters, or beginners just starting to workout. Magazine adverts featuring ripped, jacked bodybuilders help sell the promise of “take our protein and you’ll look like this”. Marketers play on the desires and naivety of beginners, and slap ridiculous price tags on these products. These prices tags carry little more than empty promises 90% of the time. You don’t need to pay over the odds for a quality protein powder, and you don’t need to wonder ‘is body fortress whey protein good’.
What Body Fortress Whey protein does is offer a solid protein concentrate powder at the most competitive price on the market, without tasting like crap.
Body Fortress Whey Taste, Texture & Mixability
Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein comes in 5 flavours. Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cookies & Cream. Vanilla was always the flavour that stood the test of time for me. Each of these flavours tasted delicious, and for those with a sweet tooth or looking for something a little different, definitely try the cookies & cream flavour. However Vanilla was a flavour that I could take every day, month on month, and never feel like changing.
Opening the tub smells like opening a tub of your favourite vanilla ice cream (mmmmm!) Each of the flavours taste’s great with both water or milk. Depending on how strong you prefer your protein shake to taste, will depend on the amount of liquid you add. I always used about 6-8 ounces of water per scoop as my post workout shake, and it tasted great. If I was using Body Fortress Whey Protein as a meal replacement through the day, i’d tend to use semi-skimmed milk or 1% fat milk. This would give it a more authentic vanilla shake taste. However regardless of whether you use milk or water, it tastes awesome.
Unlike many (and more expensive) protein powders, Super Advanced Whey by Body Fortress mixes perfect. Throughout my early years of using it, never did I ever have this Body Fortress Whey clump up, or leave dry powder at the top of my shaker. A blender is not needed to shake this product, making it all the easier, better and more convenient to use. Simple add your liquid, shake and drink.
When mixing protein powder with water as a meal replacement, often it doesn’t feel like a meal replacement. It feels like a drink, and my appetite is still craving food. One of the key things i wanted to share in this body fortress whey protein review is its ability to work as a meal replacement and keep you full, even when mixed with just water. For the college student who doesn’t have the cash to spend on steaks and chicken (like me back in the day) this makes buying body fortress whey an excellent value for money meal.
