Protein Bar’s are the bodybuilder’s candy bar. Where as a non lifter will enjoy a snickers bar, dairy milk, or reeses peanut butter cup (ok sometimes us bodybuilders will also demolish a pack – or 5 – of peanut butter cups), bodybuilders generally will lean towards protein bars. Protein Chox are an awesome alternative to chocolate bars. Oh Yeah bars are like candy bars on steroids. Quest bars are basically gains… in a bar.
We’ve shared some fantastic quest bar recipes you can make at home on the site here. Our homemade lucky charms quest bar and almond quest style bar from The Diet Kitchen are awesome.
Well today we’re bringing you another quest style protein bar recipe you can make from home. Courtesy of Heather from http://proteinchef.co.uk/

DIY Quest Style Bars
Mixed Berry Almond & Dark Chocolate Protein Bar Ingredients
90g strawberry whey protein – I used Optimum Whey from SmartProtein
10g chopped almonds
10g chopped dried berries
20g chopped dark choc (at least 75% cocoa)
150g VitaFiber – Get it from MuscleFood here (Get it for cheaper using a MuscleFood Discount Code)
Instructions
- Mix all of the above together so no powder remains on the sides of the bowl.
- You will need to almost ‘work’ the protein powder into the syrup.
- Once everything is fully combined press it into a small lined square baking tray approx ½ inch thick.
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before cutting into bars.
Makes 4 Bars
Nutrition & Macro’s
Macros per bar
177kcal
5g fat
Carbs 30g
Sugar 1.7g
Protein 18g
Of course if you can’t resist and want to eat the entire thing (i may have done this!) then multiply the macros by by however much you’ve ate. For the full batch, this would be by 4.
The majority of the carbs are actually fiber, and come from the vitafiber syrup.
Enjoy
It’s as simple as that! Our other quest bar recipes require that the vitafiber be warmed first in a microwave, however this is completely optional. The difference between microwaving the vitafiber and not heating it, is that when it is heated, the bar sets a little bit softer after its had chance to cool in the fridge.
I honestly can’t decide which I prefer though, both taste awesome so give both a try!

Smart Protein is a company that Heather introduced me to (and is the brand she uses in this recipe). Im always open to trying new companies, and is one of the reason i use so many different brands (especially for protein baking) such as MyProtein, The Protein Works, GoNutrition, Protein Lifestyle and a ton of other cheap supplements suppliers.
Not only do they offer a wide range of whey protein and protein blends (along with a ton of other supplements), they offer nutrition advice, diet plans and information about training and workouts.
