High Protein Peanut Butter – dreams come true.
This is a partnership more epic than Batman & Superman. A fusion, more powerful that Goku & Vegeta. A team more dominant than Kane & The Undertaker. Dare i say, a taste sensation that surpases chocolate and peanut butter from a reeses peanut butter cup. Quite possibly.
I first tried Nuts N More Peanut Butter, along with the Nuts N More Almond Butter at the 2013 Bodypower Expo. Nuts N More products are tubs of high protein peanut butter, and high protein almond butter, available in a ton of awesome flavours. I mean really really awesome flavours. You don’t have to read this entire nuts n more review to find out that I love them. But you should read it anyway, so lets jump straight into it.

What Is Nuts n More?
The Nuts n More company features a product of tubs of high protein peanut butter and high protein almond butter. Nuts n More nut butters are fortified with whey protein, organic flax, and are 100% natural.
Nut butters seem to be the ‘in-thing’ if twitter is anything to by. Every day my feed is swamped with new tubs, empty tubs, and the most random things buttered up with… nut butter. I love peanut & almond butter. These nut butters are changing from regular peanut or almond butter, to high protein peanut butter and almond butter variations. So I was surprised when I saw Nuts n More for the first time at Bodypower 2013.
Not only was this a high protein peanut butter, each (of its 8 varieties) packed an awesome flavour. From what I gather, Nuts n More is fairly new to launch in the UK, after having a successful run in America. Appearing on Sharktank (which I believe is an American show similar to Dragons Den)
Whilst the consistency of peanut butter and almond butter differs slightly, all tubs of nuts n more peanut butter, as well as their almond butter taste super creamy. Exactly how I like it. As per the tub, I stirred it before having a serving (ok i always have more than just 1 serving), as the oil separates. This is how you know you’ve got a good quality peanut butter, and not a crappy tub of artifical mess.
Unlike traditional, non high protein peanut butter brands which create their moreish taste through inflicting you with a sugar coma, nuts n more manages to create a ‘just 1 more spoonful’ like feeling (or addiction) through its excellent blend of ingredients to create a range of must try flavours.
Nuts n More Ingredients
Nuts n More Ingredients are pretty basic:
- Organic Flax
- Whey Protein
- Natural Sweetener
- Canola Oil
- Natural Extract
Now the ingredients change slightly on the flavour and if its a almond or peanut butter, but thats pretty much what you’re getting ingredients wise in each tub of Nuts N More.
Nuts n More Nutrition Facts
The nutritional values of Nuts n More is where this high protein peanut butter (and almond butter) shines though. Nutritional values are on par with its taste (awesome).
Each 32g serving of Nuts n More provides:
- 14g Protein
- 12g Fat
- 6g Carbs
This is quite consistent throughout each of the flavours. Now my only problem with this is the serving size. The tub says 32g, which is roughly 2 small spoons, or 1 big spoon worth. No one has just one serving of nuts n more!
Seriously. It just tastes too damn nice. If you are able to abide by the ‘1 serving’ scam, then you on a slice of Dr Zak’s High Protein bread, you’ve got a good serving of protein from one sandwhich.
Nuts n More Flavours
I don’t know why, but peanut butter seems to be a favourite among the bodybuilding and fitness community. At each show i’ve competed in (at the time of writing that’s 5), the backstage area is littered with Reeses Peanut butter treats, tubs of peanut or almond butter, along with more traditional nut based sweets such as snickers.
I love reeses, its probably my favourite ‘cheat-treat’. Reeses pieces, peanut butter cups or their bars all taste awesome. I hate the sugary and high fat calories that come with them though. I don’t just enjoy the caloric junk type of peanut butter though. Meridian nut butters and myprotein peanut butter have been staples in my diet ever since I was a teenager. Heck they’re probably one of my favourite foods. The creamy, somewhat claggy consistency, coupled with that nutty taste and ability to make me feel full makes it almost a super food. What’s the equiveilant of combining a super food, with an awesome taste?
Its a bit like combining Wolverine with Batman. The outcome is just an epic win. Nuts n More is the Wolverman of the nut butter market.
Each flavour of Nuts n More, whether its their peanut or almond butters, tastes great. Protein snacks are often hit and miss. Sometimes they taste great, like Protein Ice Cream. Other times they fail miserably, like protein crispies. Offering a high protein peanut butter could have compromised the already awesome taste of regular peanut butter. Nuts n More high protein peanut butter, regular flavour, not only re-invents peanut butter. Its entire range of flavours revolutionises the nut butter market.
All Nuts N More Flavours
Nuts N More Peanut Butter Flavours:
- Nuts n More Peanut Butter
- Nuts n More Toffee Peanut Butter Crunch
- Nuts n More Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Crunch
- Nuts n More Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch
Nuts N More Almond Butter Flavours
- Nuts n More Almond Butter
- Nuts n More Chocolate Almond Butter
- Nuts n More Chocolate Coconut Almond Butter
- Nuts n More Cinnamon Raisin Almond Butter
The range of flavours that Nuts n More offers in its entire range of high protein peanut butter and almond butter tubs is stronger than the protein to fat ratio in each serving. Quite often when I try supplements, or any food for that matter, I rarely am able to try all the different flavours.
At Bodypower I was able to sample the cinnamon raisin, chocolate and regular almond butter. After trying these 3 flavours of nut butters, on spoons and on Dr Zak’s High Protein Bread, I immediately took advantage of a deal they had running, and picked up every single flavour. I walked away from the Nuts n More stall with 2 carrier bags full of high protein peanut butter and almond butters. That was the good part.
The bad part was that I had to wait 2 more weeks until I competed in the NABBA Britain Finals to crack them open and demolish them.
Remember I said these things were moreish? 1 Serving is (according to the tub) 32grams. Upon competing on May 31st, I stepped off stage, and rushed to open my tub of cinnamon & raisin nuts n more almond butter. This was Saturday afternoon. By Monday morning, I sat looking at an empty 454 gram tub of Nuts N more. That was 454g of gains I ingested.
I’ve been lucky (greedy) enough to try (and devour) entire tubs of each of these flavours, so let me give you a run down on what I though of each.
Nuts n More Cinnamon Raisin Almond Butter
Undoubtedly my favourite of the bunch. But this is like asking a (sane) parent to ask which their favourite child is. Or asking me which is my favourite Pokemon (yeah, im a geek who bodybuilds – go figure).
The cinnamon raisin nuts n more almond butter is the one tub I literally cannot control myself with. All of them are nice, but this one is dangerously nice. The raisins compliment the cinnamon flavour, and it works in perfect harmony with the consistency of the almond butter. This is nice with anything, but I enjoyed it most just eating it off the spoon.
The texture, flavour, consistency, everything about it is perfect. The blend of flavours is right. The consistency is smooth and not overly ‘claggy’. Its so easy to eat, on rice cakes, bread, toast, or even just off a spoon. If you’re only going to try one of these flavours, make it this one.
Opening a tub of this high protein almond butter is more catastrophic than opening pandora’s box. If you lack self control, proceed with caution when buying this.
Nuts n More Chocolate Almond Butter
Think nutella on steroids. That’s the best way i can describe this. The blend of chocolate tastes just like your eating a chocolate bar, but the consistency (and taste) of the almonds (as opposed to nutella’s hazelnut) makes this a far tastier (and healthier) choice.
Of all the flavours, this was my 2nd favourite. I love to spread this over toast, or just make a good old fashioned peanut butter sandwhich.
Nuts n More Chocolate Coconut Almond Butter
I wasn’t particularly looking forward to trying this flavour. My only real experience with chocolate and coconut is bounty bars, usually as left overs from the celebrations tub at Christmas, after everyone else has taken the best chocolate (im looking at your galaxy caramel).
Now im not sure if my taste buds have changed overtime, but after trying this, I’ve developed a sudden appetite for coconut flavoured foods (yoghurts satisfy that craving).
This tastes nothing like a bounty bar, for those wondering. The chocolate flavour is the more dominant flavour of the two, with the coconut flavour being subtle and not overpowering. Again this tastes awesome on sandwhiches or just off a spoon.
Nuts n More High Protein Almond Butter
Think of this as the ‘plain’ flavour of the nuts n more almond butter range. If you like regular almond butter, then this high protein almond butter from nuts n range will tantilise your taste buds.
Taste wise, this is nothing out of the ordinary. With so many great flavours available from Nuts n More, I personally wouldn’t choose to buy the regular almond butter.
Sure its consistency beats out regular almond butters, and it still packs a high protein content. However if im looking for a regular almond butter, i’d probably go for Barney Butter. You can find out why in my Barney Butter Almond Butter Review.
However, that is not to say that the almond butter from nuts n more isn’t nice. My personal preference, having tasted each of the nuts n more flavours, would be to have a flavoured tub.
Onto the Nuts n More High Protein Peanut Butters…
Nuts n More Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Crunch
I’ll be honest, i initially gave this away to my fiance, Connie. Pumpkin seeds are something I grow a disliking for when my Mam used to get bread with them in. Id always avoid them, or try and pick them out of the loaf. Id only eat bread with pumpkin seeds in if i was starving and there was nothing else in the house.
After finishing my tub of cinnamon raisin almond butter, Connie told me to try the Pumpkin Spin Peanut Butter Nuts n More. I put off trying it until her instant comparisons to the cinnamon almond butter became too much to bare. My first spoonful I thought meh. However the aftertaste of it made me dip back into the tub. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. It wasn’t as nice as the cinnamon raisin almond butter, and as the pumpkin flavour is a peanut butter, the consistency was different. However the taste was quite sweet, almost like a brown sugar, and to be honest, nothing like pumpkin seeds.
Now im not sure if pumpskin seeds and pumpkins taste alike, but all I do know is that this was a pleasant surprise.
Nuts n More Toffee Peanut Butter Crunch
This is the sweetest of the bunch. Its got a ‘sweet but salty’ kick to it. I prefer eating this on a sandwhich, as opposed to off the spoon. Im not sure why but the flavour goes exceptionally well with a wholegrain or wholemeal slice of bread.
Its also my favourite to use when making flapjacks.
Nuts n More Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch
Very similar to the chocolate almond butter. Equally as nice.
The deciding factor for this would be based on your own preference of almond or peanut butter. Unless you really want to try both variations, i’d just go with one or the other, which ever you like best.
Nuts n More High Protein Peanut Butter Crunch
A standard peanut butter. Creamy, not claggy. Not gritty. An almost perfect and smooth butter. Much like the Nuts n More Almond butter however, i’d much prefer to get a flavoured tub of nuts n more over the plain versions.
Value For Money – Is Nuts n More Worth It?
Now this is what will shy people away from the product, especially the non flavoured versions. Depending upon the flavour and variety of which tub you want, you’re looking to spend anywhere between £7-£9 a tub. The average price online seems to run for £8-£8.49
Now bare in mind this isn’t a typical nut butter. Each tub of Nuts n More is a high protein peanut butter or high protein almond butter. Using a high quality whey protein, and being fortified with flax is why nuts n more nut butters cost more than your standard tub or peanut butter.
The question is however, is it worth the money? Having tried all flavours of Nuts n More almond and peanut butters I would say ‘yes and no’.
I personally wouldn’t buy the regular high protein peanut butter or the regular nuts n more almond butter. Regardless of the added whey protein, I believe £7 for a 454g of unflavoured nut butter is just too expensive. Sure it tastes nice, but so does MyProtein Peanut Butter. So does Barney Butter almond butter. These almond and peanut butter alternatives are cheaper, but still retain the high quality nutritional profiles.
Any of the flavoured varieties of nuts n more, would get a definite thumps up and a big ‘yes’ from me however. I see myself buying Nuts n More on a regular and consistent basis going forward now. My favourite is the cinnamon raisin, so I expect this to be a regular in my food cupboard, however any of the other flavours will all be making appearances in my diet from here on out. For me, the flavour alone is worth the price tag, the whey protein is just a bonus.
I find it quite easy to hit my protein intake without the use of supplements, which is probably why I wouldn’t buy the unflavoured versions of nuts n more. The added protein is nice, but for me, its not essential. However if you struggle to hit your protein intake, then you may find that a tub of their high protein peanut butter is worth the £7 asking price. If i was in the mood for an unflavoured nut butter, then I think my money would be going to Barney Almond butter, or MyProtein’s Peanut Butter. You can of course check out my thoughts, reviews & taste testing in my guide to find the best peanut butters & nut butters.
Where to Buy Nuts n More
After i finished off my tubs from Bodypower, i was left wondering where to buy nuts n more peanut butter from. Through the magic of Google, and twitter, I found out that you can get nuts n more from Musclefood, delivered to your door! You can browse the entire selection of flavours available here.
Scowering the internet shows that MuscleFood sells Nuts n More for the cheapest price available, with tubs starting at £7. They also sell a variety pack, allowing you to get 2 tubs for £12. So for just £6 a tub, you’re getting a bargain.
You can check the likes of amazon, but you won’t find it cheaper than what you can on MuscleFood. Especially if you use our Musclefoods discount codes, chance are you can get it even cheaper.
If you love peanut butter or almond butter, then you have to give Nuts n More a try. Almond butters with added flax and protein, along with their high protein peanut butter that tastes absolutely awesome is a no brainer.
Its an excellent choice for anyone looking for a healthy, high protein peanut butter or almond. Better yet, its a must buy for anyone with a sweet tooth, as these flavours hit that sweet spot perfectly.
The thing that will put people off is undoubtedly the price. This is ultimately why Nuts n More only scores 4 stars instead of 5.
